Cory Doctorow in Madrid

Yesterday was the celebration of the 100 days of the Creative Commons Spain licenses, and, as expected, Cory «Boing Boing» Doctorow came to Madrid and made an interesting speech. The rest of the panel was really interesting also and there were many people (maybe more than fifty), everybody asking questions and discussing on many topics.

The full speech was recorded on video and audio, so probably the MP3 file will be available soon. I have uploaded some pictures to Flickr with the creativecommons tags. Cory did the same, so there is a buch of pictures there and probably many more will be added soon by other bloggers who attented to the event.

I took advantage of Cory's presence (by the way, he speaks a really good Spanish) and got an autograph with a dedication for my «dead tree» copy of Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, the same one that JJ sent me by surprise as a present from my Amazon wishlist last Christmas. Now I only have to read it ;-)

Planeta Spanglish

«Starting with a post on eCuaderno, a few email messages were exchanged and Víctor has created a Spanish Speaking Bloggers Blogging in English Planet (SSBBEP, cool!), with its corresponding XML feed (…) The idea is to create a bridge between the Spanish speaking and the English speaking blogging communities and to make it possible for ideas and memes generated in the Spanish speaking blogosphere to reach a wider audience. The tool still needs some sharpening, but the idea has merit».

The planet (a public site aggregating posts from different blogs) is run by a TypePad blog as the front-end and Planet Express as the backend. The site, of course, still needs work specially in design and presentation, but I set it up in a couple of minutes. Hope it can serve as valuable source of news and opinion.
