As some of the usual readers and friends already know, after being able of exiting the Matrix my friend Nacho and I decided that it was time to start our own Internet company in the Real World™.
So we rented some office space in our neighbourhood (bye, bye, cars and traffic jams). We signed up for a telephone line plus 4 Mbps ADSL line, bought a Wi-Fi modem-router and set up the wireless network so that anybody who happened to pass by the office (including the nearby cafeteria -- they don't know how well connected they are) could use it. We also bought some hardware as workstations also to revamp our personal gadgetry. Our borrowed home computers were the ones we used until new little friends arrived -- my brand new 20" iMac G5 took almost a month, but it was worth the wait. A friend had some spare tables from her old company and we took them, then added some DIY and Ikea furniture. Finally we hang some posters and blackboards on the walls and started to work. And BTW, we are still waiting for the chairs.
The new company name is Internality.

At Internality we have this idea of dedicating half of our time to create websites for other companies and the other half to research and develop something interesting. We will spend some months just looking around and learning some things we feel important to know before deciding for something in particular. There are lots of areas to choose from and that we like -- so it will be a matter of doing the right selection. Meanwhile, we will be occupied making websites for others. We may be only two people at the moment, but when needed we have already hired the best freelancers money can pay for some special work that we needed to do.
One of our first works is Safe-Democracy.org, which has been online for some weeks now. It's a website for an important International Summit that will be held in Madrid in March, commemorating the victims of the March 11th terrorist attacks. The final version of the website is expected for January, and will be very blog-like. The current website is already opened to voice your opinions -- if you know somebody interested in the topics of the conference (Democracy, Terrorism and Security), please forward the link. Working on this projects has been really interesting because there are a number of exceptional people involved in all areas -- something that makes it more than enjoyable.
We are also working in other four smaller websites at the moment, and also doing some other Internet and technology related work -- but some of this is secret at this moment ;-) You can tell we are not bored at all.
At Internality we have the timetable that we want. We are our own bosses, we decide when and how to do each task... in short: we do whatever we really want. We are all day diving in the depths of the Net, learning and having fun while working. So much we enjoy this work that we have this special feeling of 'That's cool! Today it's Monday' and we even find some pleasure in arriving even earlier in the morning so we can start working as soon as possible. I would say that is a really good sign and that we are really lucky for it.
The only thing left to discover at the moment is how deep the rabbit-hole goes in the Real World™.
